Thomas Golf AT-505 Irons
I finally decided to get some new irons. I considered a variety of new
models, including looking at the Nike Slingback irons. I decided to go
with the AT-505 Irons from Thomas Golf. I've mentioned them before
and tested a variety of their clubs which always got great ratings. I had
a review 7 iron from them, which I used as a base to test the other brands
against. I found I liked the Thomas club better than almost all the other
brand's 7 irons I tested. There were a couple of clubs I considered equal
to the Thomas clubs, but they cost at least twice as much. The final
clincher was I could buy the clubs individually from Thomas and didn't
have to buy a full set. I got just the 6 Iron through wedges that I needed.
I'm delighted with the clubs. They are about a 1/2 club longer than my
old forged cavity back irons and I love their patented alignment feature
on the top of the club. They’re very easy to hit. The majority of clubs
in my bag are now from Thomas Golf. I carry the following clubs from
Thomas Golf: the 380 driver, 3 and 5 hybrid iron and the 6
iron though wedges. Thomas Golf has a free club fitting service
<https://www.thomasgolf.com/pages/QUALITY-And-PERFORMANCE/Fitting-Form> which I would highly
recommend. That combined with the fact you can buy one club to
try it out first, and great customer service, makes them a great company
to do business with.
