Distance
The team of engineers at Thomas Golf worked
to achieve the optimal coefficient of restitution
(energy transfer to the ball, known as COR)
by manipulating the precise balance between
head volume, face thickness and structural
shape.
What they have developed, test subjects call
astonishing, saying that the ball "explodes
off the face." The hot, ultra-thin face
of high-strength Cast Titanium creates the
maximum USGA legal "spring-like"
effect for explosive distance. For almost
all testers, the ball carried in the air
longer and rolled farther than the driver
they were previously using.
| This additional distance was not only from
the spring-like effect of the thin 2.5mm
face, but also from the ingenious design
of the Driver's level Top-Plane. The traditional
shape of other brands have a roll-and-bulge (domed) top, that will flex
when the head makes contact with the ball.
This flexing top is bad, because it absorbs energy
from the face and power is lost. The golfer wants all the energy to stay in
the face so that it can be transferred to
the ball. The straight design of the driver's
Top-Plane eliminates unnecessary flex and
delivers more power from the face to the

The level Top-Plan of the club
head allows
for an indicator that is parallel
to the
ground and therefore can be used

the flattened
top widens the effective hitting
area for
greater forgiveness on off-center
hits, giving
you the most forgiveness and
solid performance
on all swings and hits that might
not be
your best.

Few people realize that more than 85% of
golfers
have chronic alignment and ball position
problems.
The classic case is the golfer who aligns
to the right or left of the target, then pushes or pulls the ball to the target,
thus creating a swing fault. The eyes see the curved face and top of the
club head, this is very difficult to aim correctly. Because the mind's eye sees the true line, an unconscious swing fault occurs in an attempt
to correct for the poor alignment. We blame errant shots on our swing, rather
than our poor alignment.

I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "Most
golf shots are missed before the club ever
moves". You can have the best swing
in the world but, if your alignment has you
aiming off target, you have little chance
for success!
1. If you line up right of the target, the
only way to get the ball to the target is
to swing over the top or from an in/out path
rolling the hands over to shut the face down
through impact.
2. If you line up left of the target, then
you will either swing out/in holding on to
the clubface open or drop the golf club inside
on the initial downswing to get a sensation
of swinging a more in-to-out path. |
